Exploitation in the Workplace: A Tale of Unpaid Leaves and Compensation



It’s a thought that has been bothering me for some time. I have worked and am currently working in private institutions where, unfortunately, when a fellow worker takes leave, another worker wants to do their work and replace that person. In this case, neither the worker who took leave nor the worker who replaced them was paid for that day. The management has been exploiting this scenario for quite some time and keeping the money for themselves.
